3 Month Old Baby

I can't believe that about a year ago I got pregnant and now I have my sweet 3 month old.

Life here really hasn't been that exciting.  Brody started back at school after a very long Christmas break. M and I have also settled into more of routine.  She has started to nap pretty consistenly (always a morning nap between 9 and 930) and depending on how long she sleeps, she usually take another nap around 12 and then sometime in the afternoon.  I have started to work out each morning and clean a part of my house each day of the week.  I don't run out for errands too often, since its horribly freezing lately. (-20 this morning!)

The last month has been a bit rough for me.  I had a sore throat and then a cold. Also, Madeleine has decided that she doesn't like to sleep at night anymore.  I had a hard time getting better and have been feeling really run down for awhile.  The lack of sleep has really gotten to me.  Its amazing what no sleep can do to a person.  I have been having a hard time feeling motivated to eat well, to exercise or really to do anything productive.  It also makes me a less happy individual.  I am working on being grateful and happy, even if I don't get much sleep.  I have tried everything possible (besides letting her cry it out) to get her sleeping schedule to improve.  (She was much better at 6 weeks than she is now...I really can't figure it out!)

But on to her accomplishments at her 3 month mark!
-tries to sit up on her own
-eats/sucks on her little hands
-naps well
-rolls from a sitting position to her stomach
-laughs and coos (makes a ton of noise)
-likes kicking her toys on her play mat

  1. It's always something with sleep, just when you think they are in the habit of sleeping through the night, something happens...growth spurt, teething...who knows! I have learned to despise growth spurts!

  2. I am sorry to hear she isn't sleeping at night. Benson did the same thing at three months. I found that it helped if Dan went in to soothe Benson rather than me. If I went in, all he wanted to do was feed! Good luck. I hope it gets better soon!

  3. I'm sorry it's been rough lately! Those first few months really are hard and when you look back on them you will realize that getting through them is quite an accomplishment - so keep going! If you're looking for a way to sleep train, I would highly recommend Babywise. I read it with Ty and started it with him at 8 weeks - when I was at the breaking point of no sleep. It did wonders! Your little girl is just darling and it looks like you are a great mom to her Kristin! :)

  4. Thanks for the comments and support! I'm optimistic that she will start sleeping better soon, or at least I'll get better at coping.

  5. She is such a doll! I think that's pretty normal for babies to go through sleeping stages. It can be so many things, teething, growing, getting sick, or even preoccupied with learning a new trick. When J was learning how to roll over it would keep him up at night because he would try and do it in his sleep. Silly babies!

  6. I know how you feel about being unmotivated in the winter. And Clara kept us all (my parents included) up screaming two nights ago so I'm feeling for you on the sleep thing. Everyone is right- seems like there is always something new to mess it up! She's so sweet- I hope I get to see her again soon!
