So last weekend Pam convinced me that a trip to Arizona to see our old roommate Emily was in order. I was a little leery because it is a 10+ hour drive and we would only be there for a day and a half.
We began our journey last Thursday night and drove 5 hours to the southern most town in Utah, Knab. Knab is a quaint little town with the nicest gas station attendants! We pulled in at 1:30 a.m. and wanted to stay in a motel. Most of the places were already closed so we ended up here.

They actually gave us a very large room, a great place to rest our heads for 5 hours. We started out early at 8 a.m. and finished the rest of the drive down to the inferno of Mesa, Arizona.
As usual, I didn't take any pictures from the actual trip, but not because of the lack of a good time. We had the ultimate girls weekend. We shopped, ate yummy food, got pedicures, talked and laid at the pool! It was just what I needed and being with my old roommates was perfect!
While I was gone, Brody sat at home and finished his finals! He is finally DONE with his undergrad!!! I will never have to hear him complain about stats of organization behavior or any other random class at BYU.
On our way home we got to see an exciting sight (which I did take pictures of) Apparently someone started Flagstaff, AZ on fire! It was quite the huge fire. It was the first national disaster that I had been in. I had never seen smoke like this in my life. We could even see the orange flames licking the sky.

The smoke clouds! Everyone was pulled over on the road taking pictures!

Pam with her organic gummy worms. They were actually quite good

showing off my newly acquired tan!
Arizona was quite a different world! I had never experienced heat like that before and it wasn't really that hot for AZ. It was about 105 degrees the whole weekend. My mom said I was lucky that it wasn't 115. The most interesting things I noticed about the heat and AZ were: my eyes were constantly heavy and I was sleepy unless I wore sunglasses, they had mist spraying from the awnings at restaurants and I never got hungry because I was so hot.
I did decide that maybe I liked the heat more than the cold. If I lived there I could be tan alll year round and that sounds like paradise to me!
