Football Game and 35 weeks!

Last week I went to my second and last football game.  Michigan played UMASS which isn't a very good team, so the game was less than exciting.  It's ok though since we got to watch some good football later that night during the BYU Utah game!

We sat with our new friends Parley and Angela for part of the game, which made it much more enjoyable.  I swelled up a bunch since it was a hot day.  It looked like I had sprained my ankle, it was that swollen.  Parley insisted on taking a picture of us, even though I can barely smile since my face it so fat :) At least Brody and I finally got a picture together.

Also, on Saturday I made it to 35 weeks.  Today is September 20th so one month left.  We have lots of plans for the last month. (but some are hard to accomplish since Brody is never home anymore) On the docket for this weekend is apple picking, ward party, and dinner with friends! and yes- lot's of sleeping in till 9 a.m.

Our Pitt Trip

I totally forgot to post about our adventure in Pittsburgh (while we waited for our apartment to be ready).  It was a fun little trip, even though we were dying to be in our place at that time.  It was nice to just relax and not worry about bothering anyone or sitting in a dingy motel.  We did a few fun things like lunch at the famous Primanti Brothers, a visit to the strip district (which was really fun since I've never been there before), visited Carnegie Mellon University campus and dinner with Lindsay and her boyfriend.

We had so much fun meeting Lindsay's new boyfriend.  We went to dinner and just chatted for hours.  I definitely miss spending time with my high school bff!  I'm glad we are so much closer to each other now.  Way more conducive to visits.

And He Turns 28...

Brody's birthday was yesterday, but since he had class all day and night (doesn't get home until 10 p.m.)  We celebrated on Monday night and in the morning.  We had already gone to the football game (with our new Tshirts) on Saturday, and since we don't really know anyone here yet, we just did dinner together.

All Brody ever wants is food for his birthday anyway.  I bought him a large chunk of gouda and two huge things of Nutella.  For his special birthday dinner I made him gouda, bacon mashed potatoes; chicken cordon bleu; and a fruit tart for dessert.  (of course I had to buy the fruit tart cause I could never make an attractive tart and there are way too many ingredients that I would have to buy)

I also made him waffles and bacon (his favorite) for breakfast on his real birthday.  I feel bad that it was so low key, but he isn't into his birthday as much as I am into mine! I hope he enjoyed it! (and it reminded me that we became boyfriend and girlfriend on his bday 4 years ago, wow time has flown.  Now we are celebrating his last bday before fatherhood!)

I attempted to take a picture with both of us in it..FAIL

First Football Game

So things have been a bit crazy since we were able to move in last Saturday.  This week has been a blur of building furniture, unpacking, shopping, online shopping and more shopping.  We have actually acquired quite a bit of stuff in one short week. We now have two chairs in the living room, TV, tv stand, a bed (our first real bed), mattress, bedding, kitchen table and 4 chairs (also our first), bedroom dresser, dresser for the baby's room and soon a crib!  I will take pictures when I have things decorated and looking nice.  We are still waiting for the couch and all the decorative stuff.

I have been feeling a bit overwhelmed by the whole 'decorating the nursery' thing.  I am very excited for it, but there is just so much to do!  I am surprised that I have not been bored being at home not working.  I'm not going to lie, I have been busy every day, but I often get a feeling of anxiety because I feel that I should be going to work or at least doing some homework.  But other than that I have enjoyed my time at home getting the house set up.  This week, I need to do some work (for my remote job) so that should make me feel good.  I would like to make a few dollars instead of just spending like crazy.  Oh and I am 34 weeks now.  Getting huge and this baby of mine moves like crazy!!

On to more exciting things... Brody started school last week and has enjoyed it so far.  We has a few night classes so some nights he doesn't get back until 10 p.m. But since he isn't working full time yet, I have been able to see him quite a bit.  He will get busier though, so I think the 'seeing him often' thing will quickly disappear.

We haven't had much time to get out and enjoy the city yet, but on Saturday, we did go to the Michigan game.  It was the opening home game and it was intense!  The attendance at the stadium was 112,000+ We had to leave hours early so that we could get a spot closer to the stadium.  (people charge 30+ to park in their driveways and yards) We found a free spot in a neighborhood that was closer to the stadium and just walked! I am a huge baby and didn't enjoy the walking part.  I have been pretty swollen lately, so the walking did not help!  At the game, the student section stands for the ENTIRE game so I had to comply to watch most of it.  The students are also quite rowdy.  I definitely got to hear my share of profanity, especially when the game was not going as the fans would like.  Other than that fact, it was fun to be at such a huge stadium with so much energy!  I get to go to one more game this season and then I will be too pregnant to go anymore.

I bought a Michigan shirt for myself and for Brody- It was part of his early bday present.  I never have any pictures with him, but I promise we are still married :) .  We did get one, but it is too ugly to post.
