Is 27 Considered Late 20s?

Well whether it is considered late 20s or not, Brody turned the big 27 on Sunday. We did a few things to celebrate. Some worked out better than others, but overall it was a great weekend.

On Saturday we went to Luganos, a restaurant that Brody has been wanting to try ever since we moved to our place in SL. We have procrastinated going because it is expensive and fancy. Well I thought a birthday was a good excuse to go.

James and his date joined us. He was on a lay over from a flight from NY to San Fran. He so generously bought us dinner. I was in shock but obviously a good and happy shock. We all ate amazing food. Brody got lamb shank and risotto.

On Sunday, I woke early and surprised Brody with crepes for breakfast (can you tell his Bday is centered around food?) I also gave him his presents. I bought him two lovely shirts (he loves shirts with stupid sayings) and some cheese. I wanted to buy him a cheese of the month club subscription, but they are way too expensive, so I made my own. (I'll buy him cheese every month)

Then we made a delicious pizza with tomatoes from our garden and I made dessert.

It was a blueberry, creme cheese danish cake. It def did not look like it did on Jessie's blog, but it still tasted good. Too bad I can't get the aesthetics to match the taste.

Brody's family came over to share dessert. and to our surprise, Brody's mom bought Brody the exact same presents. A funny tshirt and lots of cheese! I think she one-upped me.

Stay-cation!

This Labor Day we had a little stay-cation. Brody's dad and Brenda went to California so they asked us to housesit and take care of the dog, Shiva. It was fun to stay in a big house and have it all to ourselves. We wanted to throw a riotous party, but the idea of throwing a party when your parents are gone is really not as appealing when you're not in high school ha. We did have Ryan and Kristen over to watch a scary movie and we took advantage of the shopping that is South Jordan.

On Sunday his parents returned so we went home and decided to spend Monday in Park City. We can ride the gondola for free at Canyons because we have season passes. We planned to go up a bunch over the summer, but it took us till the last weekend of summer to go. We took the gondola, hiked for a bit and afterwards wandered around Park City. We ate some yummy pizza and looked at some expensive houses. Our kind of day.

Harvesting!

All summer Brody has been obsessed with his tiny garden. He anxiously awaited this moment since May. He finally got to pick a tomato! It tasted yummy, but not much different from a store bought tomato. I would never tell him that though...
