Another trip..East Coast this time

20 weeks! in Virginia
This past week, I made  a trip to Virginia to see family and friends.  My sister is turning 40 this weekend, and I wanted to go out and do something to celebrate.  Unfortunately none of my grand plans worked out (it's kind of impossible to plans things with my family), but I did get to spend some quality time with two of my sisters and mom.  We also made a birthday cake and dinner for my sister on Sunday, so I guess that all counts as a 40th bday celebration.

I was also able to attend Jessie's brother's wedding reception/open house and meet baby Clara for the first time.  (and see Jessie of course)  I spent Monday and Tuesday in Richmond with Jessie, getting a full motherhood education.  She showed me the ins and outs of motherhood and life with a newborn.  It was very eye opening.  I knew it would be a lot of work taking care of a baby, but wow I don't think I fully comprehended.  I'm glad I was able to experience this before our own baby girl comes.

It wasn't all work though.  We did manage to get out for manicures and for a little shopping.  We also ate good food from some of Jessie's favorite places in Richmond. (unfortunately I couldn't really enjoy food because I was sick the whole time.  Its pretty awful being pregnant and not getting to take any medicine!)

Finally, I was able to experience a new adventure.  I rode a greyhound bus from Richmond back to my sister's in northern VA.  It wasn't too scary, but definitely an experience.  Wednesday I flew back to Utah and ran off to my old roommate's wedding reception.

Noelle looked beautiful and it was fun to see all my old roomies, minus Nicole.  Now I am back to real life and work.  But I am looking forward to relaxing and finally feeling healthy again.

In other news, I started to feel our baby girl move.  I think I was first sure it was her about a week ago (May 29ish).  Now I feel it all the time and am sure it is her.  Brody bought new headphones and we play music for her.  She definitely reacts to that!  I have my next appt on Monday.

  1. Missing you! Glad I could give you a little peek into motherhood... yeah it's lots of work but lots of fun too! Gets better and better. I'll have to send you some of the pictures we took. Oh, and you were brave for getting on that bus!
