Lake Powell and our 2nd Year!

Well over Pioneer Day we took a journey to Lake Powell. The mini went on her first road trip and she did fabulously. She did better on gas than we could have hoped for! We were kinda put-out that we had to drive because we didn't want to pay for gas, but it ended up being incredibly cheap for us!
The trip started out with some bumps though. Brody's dad's truck just stopped working in Hanksville (middle of nowhere Utah). Hanksville is the last civilization before you reach Lake Powell. Brody and I, who lefted later than the family were only in Provo when we got the news. We ended up driving to Price and stayed in a hotel. We were there waiting to see if we needed to pick up a part for the car since Hanksville has no stores. Well miraculously the truck just started up the next morning with no issues and drove the rest of the way, no problem. We only missed an hour or two on the lake because of this...so it ended up with a good outcome.
Me in our hotel room being sad that our trip was delayed
The trip itself was hot and sunny. I got wayy too tan, more so than in years past. I couldn't help it. The sun was just relentless. I think I am getting old now. I am starting to worry about wrinkles and I don't want to get fried in the sun as much as I used to.
Showing off my intense tan- Pictures never do it justice
It was fun to get away and take a break from the constant working of the summer.
A week after we got back, we celebrated our 2nd year anniversary!! We celebrated Saturday morning and Sunday day. We went to the temple on Saturday morning and then went and looked at sun glasses (a post to come about that). We then went to Rumbi (symbolic to our relationship) for lunch. We coincidentally ran into Josh and Sharsti and Sharsti's mom. We all ate together. A fun coincidence. Sunday, I made a special dinner and Brody surprised me with Tiki torches for our backyard. Fun! (for dinner we had salmon, rolls, watermellon and corn on the cob)
